Excursion to Montserrat with cogwheel train or Aeri

With a height of 1,236 meters and a silhouette of a jagged mountain range, Montserrat is a unique natural treasure in the world and one of the most emblematic destinations in Spain. It houses the Sanctuary of the Patroness of Catalonia, a place of great devotion and incomparable beauty.

Itinerary

We will depart from the North Station of Barcelona to enter the heart of the province and embark on the unforgettable experience of the famous Montserrat rack railway. In just 15 minutes, we will ascend more than 600 meters of elevation, enjoying impressive panoramic views that will bring us closer to the majestic Monastery.

Once we arrive at the Montserrat sanctuary, we will marvel at the rocky environment that surrounds it, a place full of spirituality thanks to the miraculous appearance of the Virgin in one of its caves.

Inside Montserrat, we will explore the Royal Basilica to contemplate the Moreneta Virgin, a masterpiece carved in the 12th century that has been a center of pilgrimage for centuries in Spain.

After visiting the temple, you will have free time to taste a selection of 4 typical liquors from the region. In addition, they will have the opportunity to explore the audiovisual space of Montserrat.

Our tour concludes with the return to Barcelona from where we departed.

Ascent by Aeri For those who prefer a different experience, we offer the option of ascending to Montserrat on the Aeri cable car. However, it is important to keep in mind that the Aeri facilities are not adapted for people with reduced mobility. If you need adapted access, we recommend opting for the rack railway ascent.
