In front of this imposing monument, we will explore its roots and discover its fundamental role as the main entrance to the Universal Exhibition of 1888. Before entering the streets of El Born, we will immerse ourselves in a brief introduction about the fascinating journey that awaits us.

We will cross the picturesque square of Sant Pere de les Puelles and marvel at the Palau de la Música Catalana, an architectural jewel designed by the renowned Lluís Domènech i Montaner, an undisputed symbol of Catalan modernism.

Continuing our path, we will find the old convent of Sant Agustí Vell and we will unravel its intriguing link with the War of the Spanish Succession of the 18th century.
