Get ready to discover the majesty and symbolism behind the Sagrada Familia on our exciting free tour!

Itinerary

We will meet promptly at number 2 of Avinguda de Gaudi to begin this fascinating free tour of the Sagrada Familia. During this tour, we will explore the exteriors of this emblematic temple, admiring every detail of its facades and understanding its deep religious symbolism, as well as the unique architecture and innovative techniques used by its creator, Antonio Gaudí.

We will begin our adventure in front of the majestic Nativity Facade, where Gaudí expressed his deep love for nature and the Sagrada Familia. We will discover the meaning behind each sculpture and marvel at its beauty. Then, we will head towards the imposing Passion Facade, a striking representation of the suffering of Jesus Christ, which contrasts markedly with the previous one.

It is important to note that, although Gaudí is recognized as the main architect of the Sagrada Familia, the original idea was conceived by Josep Maria Bocabella, founder of the Spiritual Association of Devotees of Saint John. Furthermore, Francisco de Paula del Villar was in charge of designing the church initially, in a neo-Gothic style, before Gaudí took over the project in 1883 and transformed its direction.

Throughout our guided tour, we'll explore Gaudí's life and faith, as well as the reasons behind the lengthy construction of the Sagrada Familia and whether it remains in accordance with the architect's original plans. Did you know that an important part of the temple still remains unfinished? This is the monumental Facade of Glory, which represents the glorification of Christ and is considered the most ambitious of all.

After a fascinating hour and a half exploring the surroundings of the Sagrada Familia, we will say goodbye, having enriched our knowledge and appreciation of this architectural masterpiece.
