Explore the hidden history of Barcelona with our guided tour of La Tamarita Gardens, a little-known historical treasure full of natural and artistic wonders.
Join us at the entrance to the La Tamarita Gardens for a unique experience that will transport you to a calmer and more charming Barcelona. For one hour and 15 minutes, we will discover the secrets of this unique space.
Did you know that these gardens used to be part of a private estate belonging to a Belgian family? At the beginning of the 20th century, the cotton industrialist Alfredo Mata acquired these two hectares to transform them into an urban oasis. He commissioned its design to renowned architect Nicolau Maria Rubió i Tudurí, whose genius is reflected in every corner.
As we stroll through the gardens, which opened to the public in 1993, you will be surprised by the majesty of ancient trees, such as an imposing 23-meter-high oak, along with yews, bitter orange trees and lush jacarandas. In addition to its rich biodiversity, the gardens are adorned with terracotta sculptures, marble ornaments and beautiful stone fountains, each telling its own story. As our tour concludes, we invite you to stay and explore this oasis at your own pace, enjoying its beauty and tranquility.
