Welcome to Casa Vicens, the architectural jewel that marked the beginning of the career of one of the most recognized geniuses of Catalan modernism, Antonio Gaudí!
We will meet at the indicated time at Casa Vicens, the first work of the Catalan architect Antonio Gaudí. At barely 30 years old, this famous artist received his first major commission from an important financial agent in Barcelona. Inspired by oriental details, Gaudí combined brightly colored tiles with his peculiar personal style. The result? A building declared World Heritage by UNESCO.
During our visit we will tour the interior of the house, converted into a museum since 2017, and we will learn in more detail about the personal and professional career of Antonio Gaudí. Casa Vicens represented a turning point in Catalan architecture and opened the doors to the modernist style that characterizes Barcelona. Furthermore, it was a clear reflection of the young Gaudí's talent and encouraged him to carry out future projects such as the Sagrada Familia or Park Güell.
After an hour of immersion in Gaudinian art, we will end the guided tour at Casa Vicens.
