Discover the charms of La Garrocha on this unforgettable excursion that will take you to essential places such as Besalú and Lake Bañolas. A complete experience that you cannot miss!
The day begins at 9:00 a.m. in the Plaza Sant Feliu in Gerona, from where we will head towards Besalú, a picturesque medieval town just 35 minutes away.
For two hours, we will explore this historical treasure, walking through its cobbled streets and immersing ourselves in the fascinating history of its old town with our guide.
Then, we will enter the Garrocha Natural Park, a pre-Pyrenees region that is home to more than 40 volcanoes. We will visit a medieval hermitage located in the middle of the crater of one of them, a unique experience.
On our way to the Santa Margarida volcano, we will make a stop in Castellfollit de la Roca, a unique town that stands on a column of basaltic rock and offers impressive views of the Fluvià River.
After admiring the Santa Margarida volcano, we will enjoy free time for lunch at a local restaurant.
We will continue our tour of La Garrocha visiting the charming town of Santa Pau, where we will explore its history and visit the church of Santa María and the Castle, two medieval jewels.
To finish, we will go to the idyllic Bañolas Lake, where we will take a relaxing walk along its shore while we contemplate the impressive landscape. We will return to Gerona at 5:00 p.m., after a day full of discoveries.
